Titan Manufacturer Warrantee.

Your Questions & Answers

Many Titan Solar customers have reached out about confusing emails regarding the status of their solar warranties or eligibility of the ITC (federal solar tax credit). Today we want to set the record straight and make sure you are in the best position to take the next steps of maintaining your system post Titan Solar Power’s Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.

To Get Piece of Mind, You'll Need the Facts.

Most manufacturer warranties last 10–25 years. If still valid, you can get coverage with basic information (serial numbers, date of install, troubleshooting steps and documentation). No reinstatement of warranties is necessary. Since Titan is no longer in business, you simply need a certified, licensed contractor for labor and manufacturer support.

The solar tax credit (ITC) is independent of the filing or operational status of your installer. If you haven’t already, talk to your tax professional and have them file IRS Form 5695. They may ask you to keep your original contract for proof the system is owned (cash or finance, not leased), but Titan’s bankruptcy does not change your eligibility or the process to qualify and receive the ITC.

For any solicitation regarding service to your solar system, verify the contractor’s state license number. In your state, this license number is required in solicitations—if it’s missing, that’s a red flag. Use the official lookup below:

Be cautious of terms like “mandatory inspection required” or “reinstatement needed” as these are often misleading. Your installer being out of business does not mean you are abandoned. As with heating/air or plumbing, any licensed provider certified with your manufacturer can work with you to process warranty claims and help get your system back up and running when needed.
